    Moises Arias on Bonzo’s Hair

AOL has posted a 30 minute interview with Moises Arias in which he talks briefly about Ender’s Game and Bonzo.

Right before this film, I was doing Ender’s Game and they shaved my head on the last day of shooting, which led to that weird haircut in the film [Kings of Summer] and previously the director was like, “Don’t cut it before you come to set.” and I showed up with that in between stage of it actually growing out and it just being buzz cut and it ended up working. I look very sexy.

So while it’s a small little tidbit, it is interesting that they’d shave his head on the last day of filming. It would mean that he’s got a full head of hair (which we’ve seen in set pictures) for basically the whole movie and then for whatever reason, they suddenly wanted him to have a buzz cut.

What do you guys think this could mean? Does Bonzo shave his head because Ender drives him over the edge? Does he do it just before his fight with Ender? Or does the Battle School do it after the fight as a result of the fight?

Moises also talks about his career and about how grateful he is to his parents and family for the support they’ve always given him in pursuing his dreams. He then talks to two fans about the evolution of his career.

    The Weekly Ender #4

Here’s the 4th Weekly Ender for you guys! I talk a bit about why I liked Shadow of the Hegemon better than Ender’s Shadow. You’ll have to excuse my not speaking very well for this one but it was so freaking hot I had a hard time concentrating. I don’t know what I’m going to do as we get into summer. -_-

Moises Arias went to the Young Hollywood studio to talk about his upcoming projects and being called a young Dustin Hoffman. When the conversation switched to Ender’s Game, he said to expect “the doucheyest character ever” (yeah, I have no idea how to spell that either) and that there’s not one ounce of nice in Bonzo. He also mentions again how all the extras were scared of him on set.

VIDEO: Viola Davis in ‘Prisoners’ Trailer

Check out Viola Davis (Anderson), in the first trailer for her new movie ‘Prisoners’ which also stars Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhal.

    Synopsis:

A Boston man kidnaps the person he suspects is behind the disappearance of his young daughter and her best friend.

Prisoners will hit theaters on September 20, 2013.

Sadly, I’ll have to skip this one. If there’s one thing I can’t handle, it’s kidnapped kids. Or dead kidnapped kids. Or just dead kids. Shutter Island scarred me for life.

VIDEO: Sir Ben Kingsley Loved Working with Gavin Hood

RedCarpetNewsTV spoke with Sir Ben Kingsley last week and chatted a bit about Ender’s Game and working with Gavin Hood. Here’s a transcript as well:

Ender’s Game is a project that fans are so excited about. What can fans expect from the film adaptation of that? Of course you play a major part.

I’ve only seen some tiny clips of it, but I loved working with the director and I think it’s going to be an absolutely spectacular film. Beautiful.

Working with Asa again, an astonishing young talent. What makes him such a promising young star?

Intelligence and application and a well-brought up boy. He has a lovely mother.

Harrison Ford as well, the cast is littered with greats. What’s it like working with him?

He’s a delight, we got along really well. Yeah. Really well.

Here’s a video of Khylin Rhambo (Dink) and Aramis Knight (Bean) doing a video review of the PSiO, which is a pair of audiovisual stimulation glasses that provide audio and color therapy.

Khylin and Aramis do mention Ender’s Game a bit, saying that there were some really emotional scenes that they had to do and that these glasses really would have helped them to get into character.

Unfortunately, these glasses cost $399, so unless PSiO wants to send a pair to a sci-fi movie fansite called EnderWiggin.net for review, I don’t think I’ll get to try them. *cough cough*

    VLOG: The Weekly Ender #1

Ho, launchies! I’ve started up a weekly vlog called The Weekly Ender where I’ll do a short Ender’s Game related video at the end of the week.

I’m doing it mostly to get better at talking on camera since doing EnderCast every week has helped me learn how to speak continuously. Plus, if I’m going to have a YouTube channel, I need content, right?

    Feedback is welcome!

  • VIDEO: PopSugar Interviews Asa Butterfield at CinemaCon

VIDEO: PopSugar Interviews Asa Butterfield at CinemaCon

Here’s another interview Asa Butterfield did while in Vegas for CinemaCon done by PopSugarTV.

Asa mentioned again what an honor it was to be cast as Ender, mentioning the dedicated fanbase the story has built up over the years. “The story’s become such a cult almost, it’s got such a big following. It’s like a family and for me and the cast to become a part of that, it’s special.”

Since Asa’s last film before Ender’s Game was the CGI-heavy film Hugo, he was asked if that made it any easier doing a movie that involved so much green screen.

“Working against green screens, it’s still different than working against a live person. You just have to have a really strong imagination and Gavin and all the effects people showed us what you call “pre-vis”. So we had and idea of what it was going to look like so that let us play against where everything was in the space.”

The fans’ number one concern is of course how true to the book the movie will be and while we’re all anticipating a lot of changes in the film adaptation, Asa insists that the message will remain intact, “After watching the film you’ll still get the same message as you would from reading the book.”

So… in other words, I’ll be all teary eyed and have an aching heart at the end? 😉

ClevverTV interviewed Hailee and Asa at CinemaCon and asked about Ender’s Game, working with Harrison Ford, and space camp training.

“I think the hardest part was getting up at 7 every morning,” laughed Asa. “But that was the first time the cast had met each other, pretty much, so it really broke the ice and we were best friends at the end of it.”
