    EG-Comic-Con

Comic Con International has released the schedule for Friday, July 19. While the attention may be focused on the star-studded panel scheduled for Thursday, there are two Ender’s Game related panels scheduled for Friday.

A panel for various professionals in the art department for films will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 in Room 24ABC and includes Ender’s Game art director Clint Wallace.

The Feature Film Art Department: The Art of Collaboration-and the Collaboration of Artists

How do as few as five – or as many as 50 – artists work together to create a coherent, believable world in which to stage the action of the modern motion picture? Members of the art department of Captain America: First Avenger discuss working on the film in Los Angeles while the film was shooting in London. Panelists include moderator and supervising art director John Dexter (also Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3), conceptual model maker Jeff Frost (Star Trek Into Darkness), lead vehicle designer Daniel Simon (Tron: Uprising), graphic designer Karen TenEyck (The Lone Ranger), and set designer and assistant art director Clint Wallace (Men in Black 3, Enders Game as art director).

Another panel in the same room will feature costume designers including Alan Villanueva from Ender’s Game.

    Welcome to the New Age

Top costume illustrators from the Costume Designers Guild IATSE Local 892 talk about their latest projects and the changing world of illustration in the digital and 3D age, followed by a Q&A. Featured panelists are Keith Christensen (Man of Steel, Star Wars 7, Tomorrowland), Phillip Boutte Jr. (Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Man of Steel), Constantine Sekeris (Star Trek, G.I. Joe: Retaliation), Alan Villanueva (Oz, the Great & Powerful, Enders Game, Defiance), and Christian Cordella (Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, Oblivion, 300: Rise of an Empire). Moderated by author Peter Clines (Ex-Heros, Ex-Patriots).

With the two films sharing a one hour slot, that doesn’t seem to leave a whole lot of time for Ender’s Game, a half an hour at most. Hopefully they pack in as much as they can!

    ENDERS GAME Film Information:

In the near future, a hostile alien race has attacked Earth. In preparation for the next attack, the humans begin training only the best students to find their future leader. Ender Wiggin, a shy, but strategically brilliant young man is pulled out of his school to join the elite. Arriving at Battle School, Ender quickly and easily masters the training, distinguishing himself and winning respect amongst his peers. He is soon ordained as the military’s next great hope and is charged to lead his fellow soldiers into an epic battle that will determine the future of Earth and save the human race.

OddLot Entertainment, K/O Paper Products, and Digital Domain are production partners on the film, with Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman producing via their K/O Paper Products banner, Gigi Pritzker and Linda McDonough producing via OddLot Entertainment, along with Orson Scott Card and Lynn Hendee.

If you live in the San Diego area but don’t have tickets, you seriously need to consider heading down to see the Fan Experience. I mean look at it. EIGHT rooms of sets? Exclusive footage? SDCC Badge Resale Scheduled for June 2013

    SDCC

Those of you that didn’t get a badge for SDCC at the extremely short-lived ticket sale earlier this year will have a chance to buy returned tickets in June 2013 during the badge resale. These tickets were returned by ticket purchasers who got badges during the first sale and CCI is putting them up for sale again. These tickets will be non-refundable.

Anyone who would like to participate in the resale must have a Comic-Con Member ID. A Member ID is required for everyone attending Comic-Con. Please click here to sign-up for a Member ID today. Member ID registration will temporarily close without notice prior to badge resales, so be sure to sign up well in advance.

Since SDCC would be a prime platform for debuting a new trailer and hosting a panel, Ender fans won’t want to miss out. Be sure you read all of their info about the resale here.
