VIDEO: FilmClub Talks to Asa Butterfield
British educational charity FilmClub recently had young reporter Matt talk with Asa Butterfield about Ender’s Game. Watch the video below.
One of the things that we really wanted to do is keep the core themes and ideas from the original novel into the screenplay and it was a bit of a challenge and it was a lot of weight on my shoulders playing this character, but I think we did it justice.
Having a novel as an actor is so helpful in having small ideas, things that you can draw upon when creating a character. I’ve done a few films where they’ve been adapted from novels and it’s always really helpful.
Asa also mentions that he hasn’t seen the film yet, though it’s unclear when this interview was actually conducted.

Constantin Film has released their second highlights video “Rules of the Game” from Gamescom. With Dee on vacation, we’ve got a partial translation, thanks to my friend Carla!

Episode 2: Rules of the Game
What happened so far: 12 female commanders of the International Fleet are looking for the chosen fighter at Gamescom. In cooperation with KEF we have built a gigantic laser tag arena. Here we test the abilties of potential heroes to secure peace for the entire world. AFter you have registered yourself and your team for the laser tag game, you receive a fastlane pass, which will shorten the time you will have to wait in line enormously. One of our commanders will soon take care of you and will prepare you and your team for the Great Game. Each fighter receives an Ender’s Game uniform and a lasertag (gun). The goal is to mark the enemy team with as many laser tags as possible over the course of five minutes. As soon as you are ready for your great moment, the gates to the Ender’s Game laser tag arena will open. Ender’s Game. From October 24 in cinemas.

For the next five days, about 300.000 of the most talented warriors of the most diverse backgrounds will meet here. Our administration includes 12 carefully selected commanders of the International Fleet (short: IF). Our boot camp has been equipped with a gigantic laser tag arena. Here, we test the abilities, the strategies and, most importantly, the courage of our soldiers. Since there is likely to be a large crowd, we offer you the chance to register (for free) for a fast lane pass, which will grant you preferential treatment when it comes to participating in the Great Game. VIDEO: Constantin Debuts German Version of ‘Ender’s Game’ Trailer
As we’ve been reporting, Constantin has been holding an Ender’s Game laser tag event at Gamescom this week and it sounds like they also used this as a chance to debut the German version of the Ender’s Game trailer, which can be viewed below thanks to FilmStarts.de.
