VIDEO: Ender in Battle School Orientation

Last night at the MCM Expo Q&A event in London, several clips were shown including the trailer, Ender’s Army, and an exclusive clip that included snippets of the propaganda video shown at Comic Con in the Ender’s Game Experience “Welcome to Battle School”. The difference is, this clip is integrated into the movie itself, and we get to see Ender watch video of Mazer’s crucial battle at what is presumably Battle School orientation.

Thanks to @AP2HHC for the video!

VIDEO: Sir Ben Kingsley on Acting with Tā Moko

Sir Ben Kingsley spoke with HeyUGuysUK in London tonight about what it was like for him to act with Maori tā moko on his face.

I didn’t feel any conscious difference on my face and it’s not a tattoo on my arm that I can look at on my arm and sort of enjoy or have a rapport with but […] it changed the way the other actors looked at me and that was really interesting, how they were trying to decipher my face and wonder what it meant and how dangerous and threatening it was. It affected them more than it affected me. It’s good, it was great.

  • VIDEO: Harrison Ford Talks Ender’s Game on Wetten Dass …?

VIDEO: Harrison Ford Talks Ender’s Game on Wetten Dass …?

As promised, here is Harrison Ford talking about Ender’s Game on Wetten Dass …? last night in Bremen. He is pretty hard to understand due to the tranlsator’s voice being much louder than his own, so there’s a transcript below the vid. Enjoy!

    Translation/Transcript:

Host: A young boy is asked to save the world. What is the general idea behind this?
Ford: He does save the world. This takes place in the future. Obviously it’s a kind of science fiction, but I think unlike the kind of science fiction you see, you’ve seen before, it has real heart and emotion. It’s, I think, a very powerful story about a young man who learns leadership, the challenges of leadership. I play the man who’s responsible for training him. It proposes that in the future, there is a world government and we have a combined military force, the International Fleet. And we have been invaded once before by an alien life form that you got a brief glimpse of there [in the CLIP they aired before] and suffered real damage from this alien life form, and we know they are coming again. And the proposition is that young people really integrate complex data more quickly than adults. So the soldiers, or warriors, of this period are fighting with drone warfare. The book, which is 28 years old, and this is a bestseller, predicted the internet, predicted touch screen technology, predicted drone warfare. And all of that has come true, and its a … the story is very compelling.
Host: A very interesting story, of which we shouldn’t give away too much, and a very visionary book this film is based on. The movie will have its great opening in Germany on October 24th.

I had hoped for a bit more information concerning the production of the movie, his co-stars etc., but I guess between having him talk about Indiana Jones and his planes and having him bet on whether a guy could throw five eggs over a beer tent and catch them on the other side with a frying pan, there just wasn’t enough time to talk about this movie some more. Meh. Still, it’s something, and we got an awesome clip with that.

VIDEO: New Ender’s Game clip from Wetten Dass …?

As we reported earlier today, Harrison Ford was a guest on German TV show Wetten Dass …? (“Bet you that …”) Host Marcus Lanz interviewed him on Ender’s Game, and they showed some awesome, beautiful, mind-boggling new footage! Check out the clip below!

    Translation:

Graff: The first alien attack found us unprepared. Millions of innocents lost their lives. That can never be allowed to happen again. We fought the enemy with everything we had and in the middle of the final battle a legendary hero emerged. The courage of Mazer Rackham should be an inspiration to all of you. We need minds like yours, Ender. Young people process complex data much easier than adults.
Ender: So I’m not the first?
Mazer: No, but you will be the last.
    Petra or Ender: In 3 – 2 – 1.
Graff: And you will be the best commander we ever trained.

And we finally get to see the images that go with some of the score we posted about a couple of days ago. This explains why the “Battle Room” track is so light-hearted. Look how happy Ender is!

Hope you enjoy! We’ll post a vid of the interview that goes with this clip tomorrow! — Dee

  • FANSITE EXCLUSIVE: ‘Ender’s Army’ – First Clip from ‘Ender’s Game’

FANSITE EXCLUSIVE: ‘Ender’s Army’ – First Clip from ‘Ender’s Game’

    Ender's-Army32

EnderWiggin.net is very happy to be one of the Ender’s Game fansites to exclusively debut the very first clip from Ender’s Game, now 27 days from release in the United States.

Watch below in the clip titled ‘Ender’s Army’ as Colonel Hyrum Graff of the International Fleet’s Battle School discusses with esteemed student Ender Wiggin his impressive record at the school and what’s in store for someone who is both excelling and struggling under Commander Bonzo Madrid of Salamander Army.

What do you guys think of the clip? I loved that they included the bit about the uniforms, which is pretty close to the scene in the book!

“I’ve never heard of Dragon Army,” Ender said.

“That’s because there hasn’t been a Dragon Army in four years. We discontinued the name because there was a superstition about it. No Dragon Army in the history of the Battle School ever won even a third of its games. It got to be a joke.”

“Well, why are you reviving it now?”

“We had a lot of extra uniforms to use up.”

For some reason I also loved the hum in the background, lending to the fact that they’re in space. I also cracked up that Graff seems to slouch. Perhaps that’s their substitute for the big belly?

Listen to EnderCast Episode 33.5 below to hear Kelly and I watching the clip for the first time!

Ender’s Game is in theaters November 1st.
