That was intense. Lots of great glimpses of Eros, the raft, and new stuff I probably haven’t even noticed yet!
That was definitely worth the wait! Before it came out, I thought it would be pretty much the same footage as the first trailer, but it puts another layer on to the previous one(: I’m very excited for the day to come! (As is my flight suit(:)
Awesome trailer, makes me all the more excited for the movie…only wish they would do a simultaneous release on YouTube! Hate sharing Quicktime videos online because on mobile it never loads properly.
UPDATE: Found it in 720p on YouTube via “MOVIECLIPS Trailers” -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UNWLgY-wuo
Asa has an excellent American accent, I think. Also, it is awesome.
I’ve been waiting for this movie for so long. This trailer is awesome!! I mean it has great effects and a great cast, I can’t wait to watch it!
i loved the shots of the first invasion, the bugger ships look so alien (go figure they are aliens) i think my favorite part was when they showed the clip of the Enders jeesh going under the ice. The trailer looked great all around. i’m super satisfied and it just got me more pumped for the movie.
I agree. They did a great job at making the alien ships original as well as their formations and movements. A lot like what I imagined from the book.
i am so glad that they kept the human shield tactic in the battle room!! (and i have never watched a trailer so many consecutive times…)
I love that part too!
Hey fwuffmeister, congrats on winning a bookmark! Please email me your address valentine @ enderwiggin.net!
hi! thanks so much!!! i just wanted to check if you got my email? (i sent it 10 days ago… i’m just afraid that it might have gone to spam because of the username or something…)
I got it! π
Fantastic…I love the ice ring attack! AND THE LAKE!! Valentine!! Graff’s car!! Major Anderson, “I’ve never seen anyone do that before…” I’m so happy there was so much new material–it’s not just a rehash of the earlier trailers. As far as the movie revealing that “it’s not a game”, remember that was a decision they made early on–that the audience would be in on it, but not Ender. My only disappointment with that being clearly portrayed in the trailer is that it will rob future EG readers from the impact of that twist in the story. Otherwise, I can honestly say I haven’t been so excited about a movie since Fellowship of the Ring came out! <
After picking my jaw up off the floor at how amazing that was, I can say that the movie is going to be fantastic. I like it when Anderson says, “I’ve never seen anyone do that.” I cannot wait for the movie. Now to watch the trailer until I’ve memorized it.
Also when Colonel Graff says “he’s in command there’s no stopping him now”. This is going to be intense!
Did anyone recognize that alien landscape as the same one used in the Planet of the Apes? It’s hard to imagine that it’s actually a place on earth when it looks so bizarre. I think it suits the buggers way more since it matches the look of their ships.
Actually, on second thought the one from the trailer looks unique though they may have taken some inspiration from the picture above.
Hi Talton, congrats on winning a dog tag! Please email me your address at valentine @ enderwiggin.net!
Whoa! THAT IS AWESOME!
Great trailer, although I still have qualms with putting that end part in there… but it fits for the build up. I sorts feel like i’ve already seen the movie now though π
Hey Kevin, congrats on winning a bookmark! Please email me your address at valentine @ enderwiggin.net!
I am literally on the edge of my seat here. The trailer alone was well worth the wait. That won’t make the next eighty-six days pass faster, though.
Goosebumps
Yay!
I’m a bit irked by Valentine’s dumbed down “If you don’t try, we all die” comment – Ender knew the stakes at the lake, it was helping to care about them and hope that his soul could be salvaged that was important. Maybe that’s the point of the scene, and they just didn’t have any context for “You’re not like Peter.”
Looks like Chamrajnagar will be in the film!
The formation for the final battle looks pretty good. And Mazer seems to have a Kiwi accent, quite appropriately (I don’t know if it’s a good one, though).
Still not sure what I think about the ending of the trailer π
Oh, is that was his accent is? I’ll have to watch again!
I’m assuming so! He’s playing a Maori from New Zealand, after all.
Now that I’ve watched the trailer a few times, i’m wondering… how much time are they actually going to devote to Battleschool? most of the special effects seem to be the battles which make sense but a lot of the story in the book is at Battleschool.
There should be a contest for spoofing the trailer? π
you can put really anything before the part where Major Anderson say’s “I’ve never seen anyone do that”
Awesome idea!
I
liked this trailer better than the other one. We can see they changed a
bit the special effects from the other trailer to this one and it looks
much better. Also I don’t think they gave much away, just enough to
make everyone curious to see the movie.
Also this music playing in the background is epic, making the trailer
look very epic. Some people were mad that they showed too much of
landscape but I liked because you can see how stunning the movie will
be, not because of a fantastic history but also the footage is
beautiful. Plus the lines in this trailer make much more sense than in
the other one that were just shoved lines. Epic trailer!!
I have been happy that with each trailer I can see more and more scenes from the book. Visually it looks stunning. I don’t know about the ‘ships under the ice field’ scene. Would it be that surprising to attack from underneath it? We’ll see. I cannot wait to see the movie.
