Ender’s Game cast members Aramis Knight and Khy Rhambo attended an Oscars after party together tonight and posted photos on Instagram and Facebook.
For those of you that watched the show, what did you think? I thought it was the best Oscars production in years and Seth MacFarlane finally proved that hosts can actually make you laugh for real. Hopefully we’ll be watching next year’s ceremonies and be cheering Ender’s Game on for something!

While attending Byron Allen’s Launch Party, Khylin Rhambo (Dink Meeker) talked with JJ Snyder of the Red Carpet Report about his show ‘First Family‘ and ‘Ender’s Game‘.
In ‘First Family‘, Rhambo plays Charles, son of the President of the United States. The pilot was filmed earlier this year and he had nothing but good things to say about the experience. “All the cast, they’re awesome, so I’m pretty excited to see how it turns out.”
Talk quickly turned to ‘Ender’s Game‘ and Rhambo was very excited to have worked with the likes of Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, and Sir Ben Kingsley. “That was a really good learning experience for me as an actor. I’m really excited. That was my first movie so it was really cool that I got to experience that.”
When asked to explain about his role and the movie’s premise, Khylin was happy to give a quick rundown. “I play Dink Meeker and he’s like a boy genius and he’s close to the main character and we have this big journey of fighting these aliens. It’s a really cool story that I’m excited to be a part of. The books are amazing. I’m stoked, I can’t even believe this is happening.”
Snyder asked whether the formics were done with puppets or CGI and it’s not surprising that he said they never actually saw them, since an encounter like this never happens in the books. “But I saw the whole layout of them.” said Rhambo.
Four key characters wrapped production on Ender’s Game this week including Hailee Steinfeld (Petra, wrapped last week), Aramis Knight (Bean), Suraj Partha (Alai), and Khy Rhambo (Dink). The cast attended a wrap party last week Saturday and today began tweeting about their filming coming to a conclusion.
Update: Conor Carroll (Bernard) wrapped today as well.
Asa Butterfield tweeted his goodbye to the three young men and Hailee Steinfeld sent a congratulatory tweet their way.
Production is winding down, but doesn’t appear to be over just yet, as actor Jimmy Pinchak (Peter Wiggin) is back in New Orleans for filming and Asa hasn’t tweeted that he’s wrapped on filming himself. Filming was originally scheduled to end on June 8.
For this week’s production entry on Ender’s Game blog, we get a look at Ender’s bedroom, which is full of knickknacks, space decals, and model planes.
The more futuristic the world, the more invisible its technology. So why shouldn’t Ender’s room look just like any normal kid’s room? And not every future is a dark dystopia. The world that Ender lives in is a world worth saving. That’s why he is willing to leave his family to go into an orbiting Battle School and risk not seeing his sister, Valentine, again until they are both adults.
I like that they gave him a modern room. I’ve never really imagined Ender’s home to be dystopian and run down.
We will keep your room for you just as you left it, Ender…
