Children
The Wiggins
Andrew “Ender” Wiggin – The youngest of the three Wiggin children, Ender is also the smartest of the three. In the book, he is chosen at age six to attend Battle School. Ender Wiggin will be played by Asa Butterfield and he will be approximately 10-12 years old in the movie.
Valentine Wiggin – The only girl of the three Wiggin children, Valentine is a genius with a gentle heart and loves Ender in every way. She protects Ender from their brother Peter.
Peter Wiggin – The eldest of the three Wiggin children, Peter is a sociopath who takes pleasure in tormenting his siblings, reserving a particular hatred for Ender, seeing him as proof he wasn’t good enough.
Battle School
Alai – One of Ender’s closest friends in Battle School. Part of Ender’s original launchie group, Alai was once the best friend of Bernard, the bully that singles out Ender on the way to Battle School. Alai will be played by Suraj Partha in the movie.
Bean – A very small and exceptionally bright boy that is part of the Launchies Ender is given to work with in Dragon Army. One of Ender’s brightest soldiers. Bean will be played by Aramis Knight in the movie.
Bernard – A bully that torments Ender on the shuttle up to Battle School. Ender accidentally causes Bernard to break his arm, which serves as a constant source of tension between them. Bernard will be played by Conor Carroll in the movie.
Bonzo Madrid – Ender’s first army commander and true enemy in Battle School. Bonzo will be played by Moises Arias in the movie.
Carn Carby – A relatively new commander of Rabbit Army. One of the older commanders in Battle School, but a gracious loser and someone Ender considers a “human being”. There is so far no evidence that Carn Carby has any presence in the movie.
Crazy Tom – One of Ender’s toon leaders in Dragon Army. There is so far no evidence that Crazy Tom has any presence in the movie.
Dink Meeker – Ender’s toon leader when he is transferred to Rat Army and eventually a close friend in Battle School. Dink will be played by Khylin Rhambo in the movie.
Fly Molo – One of Ender’s toon leaders in Dragon Army. Fly Molo will be played by Brandon Soo Hoo and is possibly a merged character of Fly Molo and Han Tzu.
Han Tzu aka Hot Soup – One of Ender’s toon leaders in Dragon Army. There is so far no evidence that Han Tzu has any presence in the movie but due to his ethnicity, he may be a merged character with Fly Molo.
Petra Arkanian – One of the few female students in Battle School and the first friend Ender makes in Salamander Army, Petra eventually becomes commander of Phoenix Army and a close friend of Ender. Petra will be played by Hailee Steinfeld in the movie.
Rose the Nose – Ender’s commander when he is transferred to Rat Army. There is so far no evidence that Rose has any presence in the movie.
Shen – One of Ender’s first friends in his Launchie group and a fellow target of Bernard. There is so far no evidence that Shen has any presence in the movie.
Adults
Colonel Graff – Head Administrator of the Battle School and original recruiter of Ender Wiggin. Graff is responsible for working behind the scenes to mold Ender into the commander Earth needs him to become. Graff will be played by Harrison Ford in the movie.
Major Anderson – In charge of the Battle Room at Battle School. Major Anderson is a female psychologist in the movie and will be played by Academy Award nominated Viola Davis.
Mazer Rackham – The original soldier who led the forces that defeated the buggers in the Second Invasion. Mazer will be played by Ben Kingsley in the movie.
Sergeant Dap – A sergeant at Battle School that takes care of the Launchies and jokingly refers to himself as “Mom”. Dap will be played by Nonso Anozie in the movie.
